The objective of the Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT) is to collect information on large and sudden population movements. Information is collected through key informant interviews or direct observation. This dashboard provides information on displacement which occurred on 6 May 2020 in one village of Lac Province. 

Following a military movement in the Ngouboua sous-préfecture (Kaya département), 52 households of 120 individuals left the village of Maria to settle in the village of Ngouboua centre, in the same sous-préfecture. These individuals will probably be relocated on the west side of the village of Ngouboua in order to set up their own site.

The objective of the Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT) is to collect information on large and sudden population movements. Information is collected through key informant interviews or direct observation. This dashboard provides information on movements which occurred from 3 to 4 May 2020 in one village and two sites located in Lac Province.


Due to the growing insecurity in the Lake Chad region, 520 households of 2,400 individuals preventively left eight villages (all located in the département of Kaya, in the Ngouboua sous-préfecture), for the sites of Fourkouloum and Mal Mayri and the village of Toulorom, all located in the same sous-préfecture. These individuals left their villages because of threats from armed groups.

The objective of the Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT) is to collect information on large and sudden population movements. Information is collected through key informant interviews or direct observation. This dashboard provides information on displacement which occurred on 27 April 2020 in two cantons of Mayo-Kebbi Est Province. 

On 27 April 2020, following thunderstorms, and because of a combination of lightning strikes and strong gushes of wind, fires broke out in the cantons of Djarao and Gounou, both located in the Gounou-Gaya sous-préfecture (Kabbia département, Mayo-Kebbi Est Province). These fires damaged 160 huts and forced 50 households of 379 individuals to flee their homes to take refuge in neighbouring homes. Some individuals spend the night without shelter, in the open air.

The objective of the Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT) is to collect information on large and sudden population movements. Information is collected through key informant interviews or direct observation. This dashboard presents information on a population movement which occurred on 2 May 2020 in the town of Ounianga Kébir, situated in Ennedi-Ouest Province, near the Libyan border. 

Following their deportation from Libya, 43 individuals (all adult male Chadian nationals) arrived in the town of Ounianga Kébir (Ennedi-Ouest Province) on 2 May 2020. Upon arrival, these individuals were quarantined, in line with preventive measures taken by Chadian authorities in order to prevent and contain the spread of COVID-19. It should be noted that 278 individuals are already confined at this location, where no medical measure has been taken yet. Thus, in total, 321 individuals (including 34 foreign nationals) are currently quarantined in the town of Ounianga Kébir. Among them, 127 have already completed their 14-day quarantine period, but, in the absence of medical measures to verify their health condition, they are being kept in quarantine on site. This situation is beginning to spark tensions among the group.

The objective of the Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT) is to collect information on large and sudden population movements. Information is collected through key informant interviews or direct observation. This dashboard presents information on a population movement which occurred during the night of 28 to 29 April 2020 in the town of Ounianga Kébir, situated in Ennedi-Ouest Province, near the Libyan border. 

 

Following their deportation from Libya, 49 Chadian individuals (including 3 women and 2 girls) arrived in the town of Ounianga Kébir (Ennedi-Ouest Province) on 29 April 2020. Upon arrival, these individuals were quarantined, in line with preventive measures taken by Chadian authorities in order to prevent and contain the spread of COVID-19. It should be noted that 229 individuals are already confined at this location, where no medical measure has been taken yet. Thus, in total, 278 individuals (including 34 foreign nationals) are currently quarantined in the town of Ounianga Kébir. It should be noted that 11 cases of varicella were identified among these individuals.

The objective of DTM’s Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT) is to collect information on large and sudden population movements. 

Since 16 April 2020, a total of 229 individuals deported from Libya and quarantined in the town of Ounianga Kébir (Ennedi-Ouest Province) were identified by DTM.

The data presented in this report was collected through the individual registration of these individuals, conducted on 26 and 27 April 2020 by local authorities, with the support of IOM staff, in order to facilitate the provision of humanitarian assistance. This report aims to provide information on the profiles, characteristics, migratory experiences and intentions of these travellers, in order to get a better understanding of their backgrounds and to better target the assistance provided to them.

The objective of the Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT) is to collect information on large and sudden population movements. Information is collected through key informant interviews or direct observation. This dashboard provides information on forced displacement of population which occurred on 21 April 2020 in one site of Moyen-Chari Province. 

Following heavy rainfall, thousands of homes on the Maïngama site (located in the Grande Sido département, Moyen-Chari Province) were damaged, forcing 430 households of 2,062 individuals to flee their destroyed shelters and seek refuge in the shelters of other households within the same site. Maïngama is the largest site in southern Chad hosting returnees from the Central African Republic, with currently approximately 10,000 individuals being hosted there. Assessments are being conducted by various partners in order to determine the extent of the damage caused by this rainfall.

Information is collected through key informant interviews or direct observation. This dashboard presents information on a population movement which occurred on 21 April 2020 in the town of Ounianga Kébir, situated in Ennedi-Ouest Province, near the Libyan border.

Following their deportation from Libya, 102 individuals arrived in the town of Ounianga Kébir (Ennedi-Ouest Province), on 21 and 22 April 2020. Upon arrival, these individuals were quarantined, in line with preventive measures taken by Chadian authorities in order to prevent and contain the spread of COVID-19. It should be noted that 127 individuals repatriated from Libya are already confined at this location. Thus, in total, 229 individuals are currently quarantined in the town of Ounianga Kébir (34 of them declared that they were not Chadian nationals).  According to these travellers, additional trucks carrying around 700 persons, are on their way from Libya to Ounianga Kébir.

On 13 April 2020, fear of armed attacks prompted approximately 240 households of 1,200 individuals to flee the villages of Kirmya and Bourboura as well as the Wadarom 2 site, all located in the sous-préfecture of Ngouboua (département of Kaya), for the village of Fourkouloum, located in the same sous-préfecture.
