The purpose of the Event Tracking Tool is to gather and provide up-to-date information on events related to COVID-19 affecting population movements, recorded at entry points as well as DTM Flow Monitoring Points (FMPs). This report presents information on changes in the situation of persons confined at the Koutéré and Pobame entry points, respectively located in the département of Monts de Lam (province of Logone Oriental) and département of Léré (province of Mayo-Kebbi Ouest), as of 09 April 2020.

The objective of the Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT) is to collect information on large and sudden population movements. Information is collected through key informant interviews or direct observation. This dashboard provides information on movements which occurred from 21 to 23 March 2020 in three sites in Lac Province. 

An armed attack which occurred on 23 March 2020 in the village of Mboma located in the sous-préfecture of Kaiga-Kindjiria (département of Fouli) led 2,032 persons (including 40 separated children hosted in the site of Yakirom) to be forcibly displaced and flee towards two sites located in the sous-préfecture of Liwa (in the same département of Fouli). Additionnally, in the same sous-préfecture of Kaiga-Kindjiria, 336 persons preventively fled their houses on 21 March 2020 towards one site located in the sous-préfecture of Liwa. All locations hosting these persons are accessible.

The objective of the Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT) is to collect information on large and sudden population movements. Information is collected through key informant interviews or direct observation. This dashboard provides information on movements which occurred from 12 to 16 March 2020 in 5 sites situated in Lac Province.

An armed attack occurred on the night of 11 to 12 March 2020 in the site of Kangalia located in the sous-préfecture of Liwa (département of Fouli) and led 2,950 persons to be forcibly displaced and flee towards 3 sites located in the same sous-préfecture. Additionnally, in the sous-préfecture of Kaiga-Kindjiria, 435 persons preventively fled their houses towards one site located in the same sous-préfecture and another site in that of Daboua.

The objective of the Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT) is to collect information on large and sudden population movements. Information is collected through key informant interviews or direct observation. This dashboard provides information on movements which occurred from 8 to 10 March 2020 in 2 villages and sites in the Lac Province.  

Between 8 and 10 March 2020, 614 individuals were displaced (after rumours of attacks) as a result of growing insecurity due to multiple armed attacks in the Lake Chad basin. Among them, 600 individuals are Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) including 400 individuals from the sous-prefecture of N'gouboua, currently hosted in the sous-préfecture of Bagasola, and 200 individuals from the sous-prefecture of Kaiga-Kindjiria, hosted in the sous-préfecture of Liwa. The other 14 individuals are Chadian nationals who left Limé, in the Diffa region of Niger, and took refuge in the sous-préfecture of Daboua.

Between 8 and 18 February 2020, 1,215 individuals were displaced as a result of growing insecurity to multiple armed attacks in the Lac Province. Displaced households found refuge in four locations of Liwa sous-préfecture. Three of the displacement (on 8, 15-16 and 18 February) were preventive, while one displacement (on 13 February) was the result of an armed attack.

The multiplication of attacks by armed groups in the sous-préfecture of Kaiga-kindjiria (Fouli département), led people from the villages of Kandalaboua (156 households of 570 individuals), Kirnakaya (139 households of 497 individuals), Makaya (88 households of 351 individuals) and Kadoulou (159 households of 622 individuals), to move preventively on 5 February 2020 to find refuge for the site of Kangalia, located in the same sous-préfecture.

Following an armed attack on 27 January 2020 near the village of Mandari located in one of the islands of Lake Chad, in the sous-préfecture of Kangalam (département of Mamdi), 130 households of 600 individuals left this village and took refuge in the village of Koulfoua,located in the same sous-préfecture.Recently, Koulfoua hosted more than 400 persons (see ETT 35 and 36) and 146 of them fled preventively from the village of Mandari (see ETT 36).
