From 20 to 27 August, in close coordination with Mozambique’s National Institute for Disaster Management (INGC), IOM DTM (Displacement Tracking Matrix) teams conducted baseline assessments at locality level (localidade), which corresponds to the lowest administrative level in the country. The fifth round covered 26 districts in Sofala, Manica, Tete and Zambezia provinces. The DTM teams interviewed locality chiefs capturing population estimates and geographic distribution, population movements, shelter repairs and access to services in host communities.

Entre os dias 20 e 27 de Agosto, as equipas do IOM DTM (matriz de localização de deslocamentos) em estreita coordenação com o Instituto Nacional de Gestão de Calamidade de Moçambique (INGC), realizaram avaliações de base a nível das Localidade, que representam o nível administrativo mais baixo do País. Nesta quinta ronda cobriu 26 Distritos nas Províncias de Sofala, Manica, Tete e Zambezia. As equipes da DTM entrevistaram chefes de Localidade capturando estimativas de população e a sua distribuição geográfica, movimentos da população, reparação dos abrigos e acesso a serviços nas comunidades.

In response to the need for up-to-date and reliable information on the conditions of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Cabo Delgado and Nampula due to the impact of the Cyclone Kenneth, the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) was activated in April 2019 in Cabo Delgado and Nampula provinces and carried out by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in collaboration with the National Institute for Disaster Management (INGC). The data in this report was collected between 20 and 26 August 2019 and reflects a variety of information on the displaced populations in the cyclone Kenneth affected areas including numbers and locations of displaced persons, demographic data on these populations, period of displacement and relevant multisectoral needs. The report provides detailed information on data collected in displacement sites and localities with IDPs in the provinces of Cabo Delgado and Nampula. Detailed site profiles are also available. All individuals identified in this DTM round are IDPs.

Tropical Cyclone Kenneth made landfall in north Mozambique the night of 25 April 2019. On 24 July 2019, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), in coordination with the Government of Mozambique through National Institute for Disaster Risk Management (INGC), carried out the fourth round of site assessments in three open sites. One in Memba district-Nampula province (Matalane Resettlement Site), one in Pemba city (Chuiba Transit Centre) and one in Metuge (Tratara Transit Centre) in the Cabo Delgado province in northern Mozambique.

On 24 June 2019, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), in coordination with the Government of Mozambique through National Institute for Disaster Risk Management (INGC), carried out the third round of site assessments in two open sites. One in Pemba city (Chuiba Transit Centre) and one in Metuge (Tratara Transit Centre) in the Cabo Delgado province in northern Mozambique.

Entre os dias 3 e 13 de Junho , as equipas da  DTM (Matriz de Monitoria de Deslocamentos) da Organização Internacional para as Migrações (OIM), em estreita coordenação com o Instituto Nacional de Gestão de Calamidade de Moçambique (INGC), realizaram a primeira ronda (R1) das avaliações de base à nível das Localidades, que representam o nível administrativo mais baixo do País. Esta primeira ronda cobriu um total de 10 Distritos na da Província de Cabo Delgado. Para o efeito, as equipes da DTM entrevistaram os chefes de Localidade com vista a obter informações sobre as estimativas de população, sua distribuição geográfica, movimentos, reparação dos abrigos e acesso a serviços nas comunidades.
