Since the onset of the war in Ukraine, people have been fleeing the crisis into Moldova and other neighbouring countries. This report presents findings based on cumulative and daily registrations by the General Inspectorate for Border Police (GIBP) and movements of refugees and other third-country nationals (TCNs) entering from Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova from all Border Crossing Points (BCPs) since 24 February 2022 and exiting the country from all BCPs towards Romania and Ukraine, as well as via flights. In addition, this report presents data on those who entered and are still present in the country.

The DTM Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT) is deployed to track and to collect information on large and sudden population movements, provide frequent updates on the scale of displacement and quantify the affected population when needed. As a sub-component of the Mobility Tracking methodology in Nigeria, ETT utilises direct observation and a broad network of key informants to capturebest estimates of the affected population per location, enabling targeted humanitarian response planning.


Between 29 August and 04 September 2022, a total of 2,986 new arrivals were recorded in locations in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States. The new arrivals were recorded at locations in Askira/Uba, Bama, Dikwa, Damboa, Gwoza, Kala Balge, Monguno, and Ngala Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the most conflict-affected state of Borno and in Fufore, Girei, Gombi, Hong, Lamurde, Maiha, Michika, Mubi South, Yola north and Song LGAs of Adamawa and in Bade LGA of Yobe State.


ETT assessments identified the following movement triggers: poor living conditions (915 individuals or 31%), military operations (537 individuals or 18%), improved security (340 individuals or 11%), camp closure (323 individuals or 11%), seasonal farming (294 individuals or 10%), attacks by NSAG (229 individuals or 8%), access to humanitarian support (139 individuals or 5%), family re-unification (123 individuals or 4%), floods (60 individuals or 2%) and fear of attacks (26 individuals or 1%).

On 01 September, 32 individuals from Ortese camp in Guma LGA were displaced to New Old Market camp in Makurdi LGA of Benue State due to fear of attack.
On 08 September, armed herders reportedly attacked Tse-Pevkyaa and Ortese communities in Nyiev ward and Yogbo community in Mbayer/Yendev ward of Guma LGA in Benue state. These attacks affected 1,111 individuals and led to the displacement of 1,103 individuals to Daudu host community in Mbawa Council ward of Guma LGA of Benue state. Eight fatalities and 27 injuries were reported.
On 09 September, flood caused by heavy rainfall was reported in the Mata Mulki community of Batsari ward of Batsari LGA in Katsina state. This affected 68 individuals and led to their displacement to neighbouring shelters.

On 26 August, flood caused by heavy rainfall was reported in Uban Doma community in Kalong ward of Shandam LGA of Plateau state. The flood affected 450 individuals, all individuals affected were displaced to neighbouring shelters.
On 29 August, floods caused by heavy rainfall were reported in the Sabon Unguwa, Kofar Arewa, and Marmara communities of Rimi ward of Rimi LGA and Lambobi Tudun Yanlafidda community of Katsina LGA, all in Katsina state. The floods affected 765 individuals in Rimi LGA and 30 individuals in Katsina LGA. These led to displacement of 795 individuals in neighbouring shelters in the communities.
On 30 and 31 August, floods caused by heavy rainfall were reported in the Kibiya community of Kibiya I ward, Shike Mai Dutse community of Kahu ward, Tarai communty of Tarai ward, Tarunu community of Fammar ward and Gidan Kamfa, Unguwar Mai Kwattawa and Gidan Liman communities of Unguwar Gai ward, all in Kibya LGA of Kano state. This affected 589 individuals and led to displacement of 584 individuals to neighbouring shelters. Five fatalities and 176 injuries were reported.
On 01 and 03 September, heavy rainstorms were reported in Leko and Mata Mulki communities of Dan Alh./Yan Gaiya ward of Batsari LGA and Danjaku of Danjaku/Karaci ward and Musawa communities in 
Musawa wards of Musawa LGA of Katsina state. The rainstorm affected and displaced 737 individuals to neighbouring shelters. Seven injuries were reported.
On 03 September, fear of attack led to displacement of 132 individuals from Dangani community in Dangani ward of Musawa LGA to Unguwar Amare community in Malumfashi ‘B’ ward of Malumfashi LGA in Katsina state.
On 04 and 05 September, floods caused by heavy rainfall were reported in Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Soba, Kudan and Zaria LGAs of Kaduna state. This affected 6,312 individuals and led to their displacement to nieghbouring shelters.

Une recrudesence des affrontements entre gangs rivaux dans la Zone métropolitaine de Port-au-Prince (ZMPP) au cours des derniers mois a aggravé une situation économique déjà précaire. Cela a contribué à des déplacements urbains à grande échelle. Ce rapport présente les résultats de l'évaluation hebdomadaire des déplacements et de la situation humanitaire effectuée par le système d'alerte précoce du ZMPP.


253 nouveaux déplacements (-63% par rapport à la période d'évaluation précédente)  et 69 nouvelles arrivées (-95%) de personnes déplacées internes ont été rapportés pendant la période d’évaluation dans les 342 quartiers évalués. La plupart de ces déplacements (83%) ont eu lieu dans la commune de Cité Soleil (quartier de Projet Drouillard). En matière de sécurité, la situation reste toujors tendue, avec 29 quartiers affectés par des violences généralisées et 11 par des violences ciblées. 35 quartiers ont été touchés par des innondations, une situation aggravée par le mauvais état des infrastructures de canalisation dans la ZMPP. Durant la période d’évaluation du 20 au 26 août, la DTM estimait 690 nouveaux déplacements et 1 411 nouvelles arrivées de personnes déplacées dans les 316 quartiers évalués.

С февраля 2022 года число беженцев из Украины и других граждан третьих стран, въехавших в Беларусь, продолжало расти. По информации Государственного пограничного комитета Республики Беларусь по состоянию на 26 августа 2022 года с 24 февраля 2022 года в Беларусь въехало 48,580 граждан Украины. Наибольшее количество въехало из Польши (26,926), Украины (15,871), Литвы (4,910) и Латвии (873). В то же время сообщается, что в период с 24 февраля по 22 августа 2022 года из Беларуси выехали 52,406 владельцев украинских паспортов. 

Настоящий отчет основан на результатах 1915 интервью, проведенных Представительством МОМ в Беларуси совместно с Белорусским Красным Крестом в период с 4 июня по 5 августа 2022 года в Минске (136 интервью), Минской области (227 интервью), Витебской области (128 интервью), Могилевской области (120 интервью), Гродненской области (154 интервью), Брестской области (695 интервью), а также  Гомельской области (455 интервью). Отчет составлен по итогам пилотной фазы запуска системы сбора данных по движению мигрантов и беженцев в Республике Беларусь (Матрицы учета перемещений) в 2022 году.

Since February 2022, an increasing number of refugees from Ukrainian and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs) entered Belarus. As of 26th of August 2022, the Belarusian State Border Committee has reported 48,580 arrivals from Ukraine since 24 Feb 2022. The largest numbers entered from Poland (26,926) and from Ukraine (15,871), followed by those entered from Lithuania (4,910) and Latvia (873). At the same time, the Belarusian authorities report that 52,406 Ukrainian passport holders left Belarus between 24 February and 22 August 2022. 

This report is based on 1,915 interviews conducted by IOM Belarus in collaboration with the Belarusian Red Cross between 04 June and 05 August 2022 in Minsk (capital) (136 interviews conducted), Minsk (region) (227 interviews), and in the regions of Vitsyebsk (128 interviews)Mahilyow (120 interviews)Hrodna (154 interviews), Brest (695 interviews), and Homel (455 interviews). This is the final report of the first round of DTM in Belarus in 2022.
