In September 2022, a total of 2,007 people were interviewed at four Flow Monitoring Points (FMPs) across the border between Uganda and Kenya. The majority of people interviewed were incoming to Uganda (57%) against outgoing to Kenya (43%).

In September 2022, 18,773 movements were observed at the Flow Monitoring Points (FMPs) in Djibouti, representing a daily average of 626 movements. Migration flows decreased by 2 per cent compared to August, during which 19,163 movements had been registered.

As per October 2022 population count findings, the Bentiu IDP camp population stands at 102,811 individuals (16,706 households) in 11,737 inhabited shelters (on average of 9 individuals per shelter). This represents a two per cent decrease compared to July 2022.
As per October 2022 population count findings, the Bentiu Town Sites (A, B, C, D, and E) population stands at 57,459 individuals / 8,852 households (on average 6 individuals per households). This represents a one per cent decrease (465 individuals/152 households) compared to July 2022.
During the month of August 2022, a total of 42,489 movements were recorded. 3,057 migrants were interviewed across 44 Flow Monitoring Points (FMPs) in Zimbabwe. The total movements recorded decreased by 4% compared to the previous month, in which 44,380 were observed.

The Horn of Africa and Yemen is one of the busiest and riskiest migration corridors in the world travelled by hundreds of thousands of migrants, the majority of whom travel in an irregular manner, often relying on smugglers to facilitate movement along the Eastern Route.
During the reporting period (19 to 25 October 2022), a total of 61 movements were recorded - 34 arrivals (20,021 individuals), 17 departures (1,029 individuals), 9 returns (192 individuals) and 1 transit (60 individuals).

Since November 2021, 313,618 individuals have been displaced by drought in Gedo region.
In September 2022, a total of 28,983 movements were observed across five of Ethiopia's flow monitoring points (FMPs). This represents an 11% increase in daily average movements in comparison with August 2022 when an average of 871 movements per day were observed.

DTM Global Survey 2023
The Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Global Survey 2023 is an annual stocktaking exercise which aims to present IOM DTM's operations and activities transparently. The Global Survey focuses on operations active from January 1 to December 31, 2023, with data collection occurring from February to April 2024.
