The year 2022, Uganda experienced multi-hazards events that include Natural disasters like drought, floods, landslides/mudslides and heavy storms/hailstorms. And in the month of September, the ministry of health declared the outbreak the Ebola Virus Disease in Uganda.
During the reporting period (04 to 10 January 2023), a total of 60 movements were recorded - 23 arrivals (2,892 individuals), 20 departures (776 individuals), and 17 returns (452 individuals).
The Horn of Africa and Yemen is one of the busiest and riskiest migration corridors in the world travelled by hundreds of thousands of migrants, the majority of whom travel in an irregular manner, often relying on smugglers to facilitate movement along the Eastern Route.

During the reporting period (1 to 31 December 2022), a total of 37 movements were recorded - 18 arrivals (170 individuals), 19 departures (168 individuals). The largest arrival movements were recorded in Cidade de Nampula (159 individuals).
During the reporting period (28 December 2022 to 03 January 2023), a total of 36 movements were recorded - 16 arrivals (655 individuals), 12 departures (376 individuals), and 8 returns (44 individuals).
A total of 29,182 movements were observed in November, 2022, representing a similar trend to 2021 when 26,435 movements were observed during the same period. Regional differences were observed.

In November 2022, a total of 33,090 movements were observed across five of Ethiopia's flow monitoring points (FMPs). This represents only a 14.1% increase in daily average movements in comparison with October 2022 when an average of 967 movements per day were observed.

During the month of November 2022, a total of 48,755 movements were recorded and 3,245 migrants were interviewed across 33 Flow Monitoring Points (FMPs) in Zimbabwe. The total movements recorded increased by 8% compared to the previous month.
DTM Global Survey 2023
The Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Global Survey 2023 is an annual stocktaking exercise which aims to present IOM DTM's operations and activities transparently. The Global Survey focuses on operations active from January 1 to December 31, 2023, with data collection occurring from February to April 2024.
