The purpose of the Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT) is to collect information on large and sudden population movements as well as on security and climate emergencies. This dashboard provides information on movements which occurred during the period from 01 January to 28 February 2023, in the Lac Province.

During the period from January to February 2023, a large number of incidents were observed in the Lake Province, resulting in an increased number of displacements. A total of 2,412 households (8,387 individuals) have been affected by displacement. However, 80 per cent of the displacements occurred during the month of February. Furthermore, most of these people (84%) were local communities before these new displacements. It should be noted that these displacements were mainly caused by armed attacks (59%), floods (21%) and preventive displacement following armed attacks or kidnapping (14%). Indeed, 78 per cent of displaced individuals took refuge in localities situated in the same sous-préfectures as their provenances (see Table 1, page 2). The most reported urgent needs were non-food items (33%), food (30%), shelter (22%) and water (15%).
