Since 24 February 2022, Ukrainians and Third Country Nationals (TCNs) have been fleeing from Ukraine to neighbouring countries as a result of the war in Ukraine. According to The Polish Border Guard data, as of 1 June, a total of 3,749 million crossings from Ukraine to Poland was recorded at the border crossing points (BCPs) since 24th February 2022. Since 12 April, IOM’s DTM has deployed Refugee Flows to Poland: Needs and Intentions surveys with refugees using BCPs to cross into Poland. The sample is not representative of all persons crossing into Poland, results should hence only be considered as indicative.

This Middle East and North Africa (MENA) report summarizes mobility restrictions at airports, land, and blue border crossing points resulting from the mitigation measures implemented in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, IOM's Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), monitors cross-border movements to and from Nigeria's Borno State in north-east Nigeria. Assessments are conducted at Points of Entry located along the border with Cameroon.

A range of data was collected during the assessments to better inform on travellers’ nationalities, sex, reasons for moving, mode of transportation and timeline of movement as shown in figures 2 to 5 on the dashboard.

La provincia del Darién se ubica en la frontera este de Panamá, y su territorio forma parte de las rutas migratorias más utilizadas por personas migrantes en movilidad por las Américas para migrar desde el sur hacia el norte del continente. A su vez, esta ruta es conocida por ser altamente peligrosa debido a las características geográficas de la selva y la presencia de crimen organizado. Las personas que la transitan se encuentran expuestas a riesgos de protección como la trata, el tráfico, la violencia de género y otras formas de violencia, explotación y abuso. El uso de estas rutas inseguras para llegar a destinos temporarios o finales plantea amenazas para la integridad, dignidad y la vida misma.

The DTM Global Mobility Restrictions Overview provides updates on international air travel restrictions and conditions for authorized entry. This overview aims to understand how COVID-19 has impacted human mobility, detailing how global and regional trends in air travel measures have evolved since COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic in March 2020. The data presented focuses on the changes in public health-related immigration and border management measures. It provides information intended to support IOM missions and partners in targeted response planning and advocacy for vulnerable populations who may be affected by changes in global mobility.

Fear of attacks and subsequent confirmed attacks in Ancuabe district by Non-State Armed Groups triggered the movements of 5,837 individuals within Ancuabe, Chiure, Quissanga, Mecufi, Mueda, Macomia, Montepuez, Meluco, Namuno, Balama, Metuge and Cidade de Pemba. An estimate of 343 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) have been identified with vulnerabilities. At least 30% of these movements are arrivals in Chiure, 23% in Montepuez and 21% in Metuge. New arrivals recorded within the reporting period map 3,390 individuals predominantly moving into displacement sites across Chiure, Metuge, and Montepuez.

IOM observed an average daily individual movements of 2,156 between 05 and 23 June, 2022 (please see the daily trends and sankey chart below for further information). Increased attacks/ fear of further attacks reported between 9 and 19 June in Ancuabe and Chiure districts account for the increase of displacement movements. Current figures are to be considered as cumulative displacement movements observed between 23-26 June. The objective of the Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT) - Movement Alert is to collect information on large and sudden population movements, and to provide support to humanitarian response partners by disseminating data on IDPs to support effective humanitarian response to the affected population. Information is collected through key informants interviews or direct observation. The dashboard provides basic information on displacements, and additional information can be shared upon request.

Починаючи з 24 лютого 2022 року війна в Україні спричинила безпрецедентну гуманітарну кризу в усіх адміністративних підрозділах (областях) країни. З 13-го по 26 червня Міжнародна організація з міграції (МОМ) провела базову оцінку території 888 громад, які приймають зареєстрованих внутрішньо переміщених осіб у Закарпатській, Львівській, Івано―Франківській, Черкаській., Чернівецькій, Чернігівській, Хмельницькій, Волинській, Вінницькій, Сумській, Рівненській, Житомирській, Кіровоградській, Полтавській, Одеській, Тернопільській, Дніпропетровській та Київській областях, щоб отримати початкове уявлення про внутрішнє переміщення. 

Проведення цієї рутинної оцінки підтримує цільове призначення та надання гуманітарної допомоги постраждалим населенням і служить попереднім джерелом для виявлення громад з високим рівнем переміщення. 

Зібрано інформацію про понад 2,100,000 прибулих у 18 областях, охоплених 6 туром базової оцінки території командою МВП. Київська, Дніпропетровська та Полтавська області мають  найбільшу кількість  переміщених осіб, кожна з яких містить понад 180 тис. ВПО.

Starting on 24 February 2022, the war in Ukraine triggered an unprecedented humanitarian crisis across the country. Between 13 and 26 June the International Organization for Migration ( conducted an area baseline assessment of 888 hromadas hosting IDPs in Kyivska, Dnipropetrovska, Poltavska, Vinnytska, Zakarpatska, Cherkaska, Lvivska, Khmelnytska, Ivano-Frankivska, Ternopilska, Odeska, Kirovohradska, Chernivetska, Zhytomyrska, Chernihivska, Volynska, Rivnenska and Sumska oblasts in order to gather initial trends on the number and geographic location of officially recorded internally displaced persons.

This routine assessment supports the targeting and provision of humanitarian assistance to the affected population and serves as a preliminary source to identify oblasts and hromadas hosting high numbers of IDPs.
IOM compiled information on more than 2 100 000 IDPs in the 18 oblasts covered by Round 6 of DTM Area Baseline. Kyivska, Dnipropetrovska and Lvivska oblasts have the highest number of displaced each hosting over 180 000 IDPs.
