IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) collected data through Surveys with Refugees in the Ukraine Response region from April to June 2024. DTM interviewed a total of 247 individuals from Ukraine residing in Romania and who intend to stay in Romania for the foreseeable future. This report focuses on the employment profiles and labour market integration of 233 Ukrainian respondents who fall within the working age bracket (18-64 years old).
Key findings:
- 47% of respondents were active in the labour market, while 47% were inactive and 6% were unknown
- Within the active population, 56% were employed and 44% were unemployed and looking for a job
- Most respondents utilised their personal network to find employment (37%). Others utilised: recruitment agencies (26%), social media (15%), job portals (10%).
- 39% of respondents had neutral feelings towards their job satisfaction
- Majority of respondents identified no problems at work (66%). For those who did, the main problems included: being underpaid (7%), working long hours (3%),having no contract (1%), and no breaks (1%).
- Top 3 sources for paying expenses included: family support (49%), savings (40%), and income (32%).

In September, a total of 220 alerts were recorded, with 201 (91%) being event-related and 19 (9%) related to movements. In Adamawa State, all alerts from Demsa, Girei, Guyuk, Lamurde, Numan, Mayo-Belwa, and Shelleng LGAs were event-related. In Taraba State, Zing and Lau LGAs reported 67 per cent and 48 per cent event-related alerts, and 33 per cent and 52 per cent movement-related alerts, respectively. Disaggregated ward-level data shows that Gundo and Talum wards in Shelleng LGA of Adamawa State recorded the highest proportion of event-related alerts at 11 and 6 per cent, respectively. This was followed by Dwan and Gwamba wards in Demsa LGA of Adamawa State, each accounting for 5 per cent of the total alerts. Four per cent of the alerts led to population displacement, while the status of 2 per cent remains unknown. Additionally, 13 per cent of the event-related alerts resulted in casualties or injuries

This report presents the results of the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Flow Monitoring Surveys (FMS) in the Western Balkans region. IOM interviewed a total of 1,009 migrants from 1 June to 31 August 2023 in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Kosovo*. FMS provides a snapshot of the profiles, experiences and needs of migrants residing in TRCs in BiH. The survey asks questions on demographics, education and employment backgrounds, the circumstances of the migration journey and migration factors, as well as future intentions.
*References to Kosovo shall be understood in the context of UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999.)

Between August 27 and September 25, 2024, flow monitoring surveys were conducted among the population in transit in the ETRMs in Darien. A total of 297 people representing different travel groups were surveyed. These surveys provided information on 572 people accompanying the representative interviewed.

This report presents data from the early warning tool for the month of August 2024 in Katsina State. A network of key informants selected from members of the Community Response Networks (CRNs) and Local Government Area (LGA) based team leads were used for data collection.
In August 2024, the TTT early warning tool captured 84 alerts in Batsari, Dan Musa, Jibia and Kanakara LGAs of Katsina State. The triangulated alerts recorded events (88%) and movements (12%) were recorded during the period. The event alerts were spread across 64 per cent of the wards in the four operational LGAs. Batsari, Dan Alhaji Yangayya and Dan Musa A wards in Batsari and Dan Musa LGAs, shared the highest number of recorded event alerts.
