This summary presents the findings of round 39 Area Assessment (Mobility Tracking) undertaking by IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix in its new format to establish a new baseline on the number of Internally Displaced persons (IDPs), IDP returnees and migrants in Yemen. In round 39 of the Area Assessment carried out between July and September 2023, IOM DTM was able to increase the overall coverage since round 38 conducted in October and November 2022. Consequently, the numbers of recorded IDPs, IDP returnees and migrants as well as accessed locations and districts has equally increased.

Data was collected by 154 enumerators through an extensive network of Key Informants (KIs) within the operational area in coordination with Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MoPIC), the Central Statistical Organization (CSO) and Executive Unit for IDPs camps management (ExU) and humanitarian partners in 13 governorates of the government of Yemen.

In the Yemen context, the practice for field teams is to select Key Informant (KI) representatives of both the host and target communities while adhering to the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and operational independence. This ensures that the selected KIs are the most relevant and appropriate individuals to ensure the successful implementation of the exercise.

In this round 39; 4,512 KIs were interviewed to collect the data, of whom seven per cent or 295 were female and 93 per cent or 4,217 were male.

This report aims to provide details on key findings regarding the multi-sectoral conditions, needs and challenges among the Myanmar migrant population in the Greater Bangkok Area as captured between June to August 2023 by IOM’s Multi-Sectoral Assessment of Needs (MSA). The purpose of this assessment is to provide detailed multi and inter-sectoral analysis of the magnitude and severity of needs among migrant populations, identify vulnerable population groups and geographic areas with the most acute needs, inform development assistance planning and relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) targets, and provide sectoral and inter-sectoral baselines for future assessments. This report includes key findings and related analyses on migration history, economic status, education, employment, health access, and shelter access.

The household survey was answered by 2,260 respondents. The combined number of respondents and their household members is 3,555 individuals.

From June to October 2022, storms and heavy monsoon rains in Pakistan caused widespread flooding and landslides across the country. As of 18 November 2022, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), up to 33 million people have been affected by the floods and a total of 90 districts have been labelled by the Government of Pakistan as ‘calamity-hit’.

Between May and June 2023, IOM implemented a third round of the CNI to provide partners with timely information on the displacement situation, the multisectoral needs of the affected population as well as the recovery needs at the settlement level. For this round, IOM implemented the CNI in 10 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The CNI was conducted in 3,105 flood-affected settlements or settlements that hosted temporary displaced persons (TDPs) across the 10 targeted districts.
