According to data collected through the Site Assessment round 35 November and December 2023, an estimated 3,194,413 IDPs (635,724 IDP households) were internally displaced across 2,662 assessed, accessible sites in Ethiopia. Conflict is the primary cause of displacement and displaced almost 2.2 million IDPs (68.7%), followed by drought which displaced an estimated 536,343 IDPs (16.8%). Somali region hosts the highest number of IDPs primarily displaced by drought nationwide (an estimated 391,573 individuals or 73% of the national drought caseload), while Tigray region hosts the highest number of IDPs primarily displaced by conflict nationwide (an estimated 831,002 individuals or 37.9% of the national conflict caseload).

According to the data collected through the Village Assessment Survey round 18 between November and December 2023, there were an estimated 2,548,685 returning IDPs (586,187 returning IDP households) across 2,580 assessed, accessible villages in Ethiopia. The highest returning IDP caseloads nationwide were in the regions of Tigray (967,257 returning IDPs, 38%), Amhara (an estimated 951,931 returning IDPs, 37.3%) and Afar (an estimated 222,179 returning IDPs, 8.7%).

It is to be noted that South Ethiopia region is not included due to operational constraints. Furthermore, the dataset for Amhara region is available separately, as a multisectoral location assessment was carried out within the region.

Suite au conflit armé survenu en avril 2023 au Soudan, des milliers de personnes ont été contraints de quitter ce pays pour se réfugier au Tchad, principalement à l’Est. Ces ressortissants tchadiens vivant au Soudan depuis des nombreuses années ont été enregistrés par l’OIM dans 41 lieux de déplacement dans les provinces du Sila et du Ouaddaï. La majorité (61 %) des sites de déplacement se trouvent dans la sous-préfecture d'Adre et constituent 55 pour cent de la population totale des retournés dans les deux provinces.

En effet, l’objectif de cette évaluation était de mesurer les profils, les vulnérabilités, les infrastructures ainsi que les besoins des populations déplacées à la suite de cette crise, afin de mieux orienter les résultats vers la planification de solutions durables pour les personnes déplacées. Les données sont collectées à travers des entretiens avec des informateurs clés (autorités locales, chefs traditionnels, représentants des personnes déplacées et gestionnaires de sites) dans les villages et sites d’accueil des personnes déplacées, ainsi que par des observations directes dans ces localités.

Ainsi, ce tableau de bord présente les résultats d'évaluations menées du 03 janvier au 08 février 2024, dans 41 lieux de déplacement situés dans les provinces du Ouaddaï et Sila.

This factsheet aims to provide a snapshot of multi-sectoral conditions, needs, and challenges among Myanmar migrants in Kanchanaburi province as captured between December 2023 and March 2024 by IOM Thailand’s multi-sectoral assessment of needs. The purpose of this assessment is to provide insights regarding the severity of needs among migrant populations, identify vulnerable population groups and geographic areas with the most acute needs, inform assistance planning and relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets, and provide sectoral and inter-sectoral baselines for future assessments.
