On 9 June 2017, at Korma IDP gathering site, a fire incident was reported to result in fire damage to 1,001 shelters, 5 fatalities (2 males and 3 females), and 19 casualties. 3 people were reported to be missing (1 elderly person and 2 children under 5 years of age) and a loss of livestock was also reported (1,124 animals). Through door-to-door assessments conducted between 13 and 19 June 2017, DTM team identified and registered 788 households (3,851 individuals) affected by the fire incident. From the reported figure of 1,001 shelters (4,385 individuals) affected by fire, 786 shelters were identified as completely burned, whereas 2 shelters were identified to have been partially damaged by the fire. The shelters completely burned by the fire represent almost half of the site.
