The total number of Undocumented Afghans that returned spontaneously to Afghanistan since 1st January 2018 through Torkham and Chaman now stands at 12,977 (excluding deportations). 46% returnees were male whereas 54% were female. The top 5 destination provinces for returns are: Kabul (33%), Nangarhar (15%), Kandahar (13%) Kunduz (9%) and Kunar (6%). The largest proportion of returns is from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (48%), followed by Punjab (21%), Balochistan (17%), FATA (7%) and Sindh (6%). The primary reasons for returning were the wish to return home, economic factors, and the fear of being deported.
