During the reporting period, 268 Undocumented Afghan individuals returned to Afghanistan through the Torkham border crossing while 330 individuals used the Chaman/Spin Boldak border crossing, bringing the total number of returns this week to 598 (127 families). The total number of Undocumented Afghans that returned spontaneously to Afghanistan since 1st January 2018 through Torkham and Chaman now stands at 21,336 (excluding deportations). In comparison, during the same reporting period last year (Jan 1 – September 1, 2017) a total of 70,373 Undocumented Afghans returned spontaneously to Afghanistan (excluding deportations).
