473 Undocumented Afghan individuals returned to Aghanistan through the Torkham border crossing whilst 420 individuals used the Chaman/Spin Boldak border crossing, bringing the total number of returns this week to 893 (210 families). The total number of undocumented Afghans that returned spontaneously to Afghanistan since 1 January 2018 through Torkham and Chaman now stands at 17,053 (excluding deportations).In comparison, during the same reporting period last year (1 January – 7 July 2017) a total of 60,491 Undocumented Afghans returned spontaneously to Afghanistan (excluding deportations). Out of the total number of returns during the present reporting period, 50% returnees were male whereas 50% were male. The top 5 destination provinces for returns are: Kabul (24%), Nangarhar (23%), Kandahar (17%), Kunduz (6%), and Baghlan (5%). The largest proportion of returns are from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (44%), followed by Balochistan (23%), Sindh (22%), Punjab (11%) and FATA (3%), and the majority of the respondents were male while 26% of the respondents were female.
