Within the period of 3 – 9 July 2018, a total of 4,716 movements were recorded, including 3,749 arrivals, 874 departures and 93 transit movements at locations in Askira/Uba, Bama, Biu, Chibok, Damboa, Demsa, Dikwa, Fufore, Girei, Gombi, Guzamala, Gwoza, Hawul, Hong, Jere, Kaga, Kala/Balge, Konduga, Kukawa, Madagali, Mafa, Magumeri, Maiduguri, Maiha, Michika, Mobbar, Monguno, Mubi-North, Mubi-South, Ngala, Nganzai, Numan, Yola-North and Yola-South Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Adamawa and Borno States.
Assessments identified the following main triggers of movements: poor living conditions (37%), voluntary relocation (22%), improved security (14%), military operations (11%), ongoing conflict (10%), fear of attacks (4%), and IDPs scouting for farmlands/farming activities (2%).
