Between December 2016 and January 2017, the number of identified IDPs increased by 129,386 individuals (7.3% increase). This brought the total number if IDPs in Nigeria to 1,899,830 (337,353 households). The return to relative safety in some of the areas previously held by Boko Haram has led to an increase in returnees from 1,039,267 in the previous round to 1,099,509 this round.
