Following the recent attacks in Palma Sede, DTM teams in Ancuabe, Namuno, Balama, Chiure, Ibo, Mueda, Montepuez, Nangade, Metuge, Mecufi, and Cidade de Pemba continue to observe movements amongst displaced populations. In the district of Nangade, a significant rise in IDP arrivals has been recorded in 5 July 2021. An estimated 672 individuals have arrived to Ntanga, Chitunda and Holota localities. Of the total 672 individual movements observed, teams note 530 individuals arriving directly from Palma by foot. A balance of 142 individual movements where additionally observed between localities in Nangade on the same day with children constituting a majority (34%) of the movement. In addition, 10 elderly persons were recorded during the assessments.
