On the 25 November 2024, heavy rain and winds caused significant damage to the Corrane resettlement site in Meconta district in Nampula, Mozambique. A rapid assessment was conducted on the 26 November 2024 by the National Institute for Disaster Risk Management and Reduction (INGD) - Local Risk and Disaster Management Committee, the local government, in coordination with the IOM-DTM team, CCCM, IOM Protection, ActionAid, and Associação Sócio Cultural Horizonte Azul ( ASCHA).

The heavy rain and winds affected a total of 167 households/ 613 individuals, including 375 children (133 boys and 242 girls) and 238 adults (81 men and 157 women), among those affected. The heavy rain and winds impacted vulnerable groups, including 19 elderly individuals (3 males and 16 females). Additionally, two individuals with disabilities were affected, along with three pregnant women and seven lactating mothers and two individuals were reported injured during the heavy rain and winds.
