The current outbreak of COVID-19 has affected globalmobility in the form of various travel disruptions, restrictionsand blockages. Building on its existing baseline assessmenttools IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) developedan online tool/database to register the points of entry, exit andtransit, such as airports, land and blue borders points wherereportedly mobility restrictions are applied, as well as thedifferent types of mobility limitations being put in place in thoselocations. The system was developed in coordination withother IOM units, namely Immigration and Border Management(IBM), Migrant Health Division (MHD) and Migrant Protectionand Assistance Unit (MPA). This report focuses on locations/areas with imposed measures and movement restrictions. The collected data, however, also indicates points whereno known mobility restrictions are applied, which providesa comprehensive overview of the impact of the COVID-19outbreak on population mobility.
