The objective of the Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT) is to collect information on large and sudden population movements as well as security and climactic emergencies. Information is collected through phone interviews with key informants and direct observation. Following a fire of unknown origin that occurred on 12 October 2021 in the Andjalai neighbourhood in the town of Faya (Province of Borkou), DTM conducted an assessment on 13 October 2021 to assess the fire’s impacts. The fire affected 11 households (79 persons) burning the homes of eight of them and making three others to leave their homes preventively. Critical damage to palm gardens, livestock and water supplies was reported.
