South Sudan — Bentiu IDP Camp Population Count (January 2023)

As per January 2023 population count findings, the Bentiu IDP camp population stands at 100,356 individuals (16,821 households) in 11,988 inhabited shelters (on average of 8 individuals per shelter). This represents a two per cent decrease compared to October 2022.

South Sudan — Naivasha IDP Camp & Masna Collective Centre Population Count (January 2023)

In January 2023, the monthly population count was conducted at Masna Collective Centre where 2,909 individuals/ 598 households were identified and Naivasha IDP Camp where 6,713 individuals/ 1,726 households were counted.

Somalia — Border Point Flow Monitoring — (December 2022)

A total of 30,220 movements were observed in December 2022, representing a 27% increase compared to 2021 when 27,779 movements were observed during the same period.

2022 Migration Overview: Horn of Africa and Arabian Peninsula

Migration picked up significantly across the three migratory corridors in the East and Horn of Africa region in 2022, thus marking the end of the impact of COVID-19-related restrictions on mobility flows.

South Sudan — Melut IDP IDP Site Population Count (January 2023)

A total of 15,347 individuals (2,600 households) were reported to be residing at the site, at the time the exercise was conducted, of whom 56 per cent were women and girls. Around 38 per cent of households were composed of more than seven individuals.

In December 2022, a total of 31,976 movements were observed across five of Ethiopia's flow monitoring points (FMPs). This represents a 6.5% decrease in daily average movements in comparison with November 2022 when an average of 1,103 movements per day were observed.

Burundi – Natural Disasters Overview (January 2018 - December 2022)

Since 2018, natural disasters, in particular torrential rains, floods and strong winds that occurred in Burundi affected 341,747 persons, including 121,879 individuals that have been displaced.

Djibouti — Rapport sur les Points de suivi des flux (01 - 30 novembre 2022)

En novembre 2022, 18 234 mouvements ont été observés aux points de suivi des flux (FMP) à Djibouti, ce qui représente une moyenne quotidienne de 608 mouvements. Les flux migratoires ont baissé de 17 % par rapport à octobre, au cours duquel 22 083 mouvements avaient été enregistrés.

Djibouti — Migration Trends Dashboard (01 - 31 December 2022)

In December 2022, 19,156 movements were observed at the Flow Monitoring Points (FMPs) in Djibouti, representing a daily average of 618 movements. Migration flows increased by 5 per cent compared to November, during which 18,234 movements had been registered.
