About Nigeria
The escalation of violence between all parties in north-eastern Nigeria since 2014 has resulted in mass displacement and deprivation in the states of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe. To better understand the scope of displacement and assess the needs of affected populations, IOM has been implementing its Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) programme starting July 2014, in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and State Emergency Management Agencies (SEMAs). The activities of the DTM project, which consist of conducting baseline assessments and registration for IDPs living in camps and host communities, are currently being carried out in Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe.
The information collected will contribute to the provision of a comprehensive profile of the IDP population in Nigeria which will be shared with all relevant stakeholders and will contribute towards enabling the government of Nigeria and humanitarian partners identify the needs of Nigeria's displaced population and develop interventions for providing IDPs necessary assistance.

This report presents the main findings extrapolated from the analysis of data relating to the characteristics and experiences of Nigerian migrants before, in, on their way to, or upon return from Europe.
Recently concluded Biometric Registration in Monguno LGA, within the period of 10 February - 30 March 2019, has brought the total number of displaced persons into 123,336 individuals (36,879 households).
Within the period of 25 April - 05 May 2019, a total of 3,320 movements were recorded, including 2,695 arrivals and 625 departures.
On 2 May 2019, IOM carried out an assessment to ascertain the level of damage sustained in camps and camp-like settings due to rainfall the previous day.
Within the period of 22-28 April 2019, a total of 2,770 movements were recorded, including 2,226 arrivals and 544 departures.
Results show that the daily average number of individuals observed in March 2019 at the FMPs in Nigeria was 1,145, a fourteen per cent decreased compared to February 2019.
Within the period of 15-21 April 2019, a total of 6,116 movements were recorded, including 4,619 arrivals and 1,497 departures.
Within the period of 08 - 14 April 2019, a total of 3,607 movements were recorded, including 2,921 arrivals and 686 departures.
Within the period of 01 - 09 April 2019, a total of 2,893 movements were recorded, including 2,550 arrivals and 343 departures.
Within the period of 25 - 31 March 2019, a total of 7,162 movements were recorded, including 6,628 arrivals and 534 departures.
Within the period of 18 - 24 March 2019, a total of 2,833 movements were recorded, including 2,522 arrivals and 311 departures.
Results show that the daily average number of individuals observed in February at the FMPs in Nigeria was 1,385, a fourteen per cent decreased compared to January 2019.
Within the period of 11 - 17 March 2019, a total of 2,276 movements were recorded, including 2,169 arrivals and 107 departures.
Within the period of 4 - 10 March 2019, a total of 2,102 movements were recorded, including 1,731 arrivals and 371 departures.

IOM manages the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) in Nigeria and other countries around the world, to support humanitarian communities with data on displacement and mobility.
Within the period of 25 February - 03 March 2019, a total of 1,611 movements were recorded, including 1,514 arrivals and 97 departures.
Within the period of 18 - 24 February 2019, a total of 1,606 movements were recorded, including 1,505 arrivals and 101 departures.
In Nigeria, FMPs were established in March 2017 at several important transit points in Sokoto and Kano to track the passage of travellers to and from Niger. This dashboard is an overview of the data collected at these FMPs in January 2019.
Within the period of 11 - 17 February 2019, a total of 2,855 movements were recorded, including 1,746 arrivals and 1,109 departures.
Within the period of 04 - 10 February 2019, a total of 6,931 movements were recorded, including 4,752 arrivals and 2,179 departures.
DTM Global Survey 2023
The Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Global Survey 2023 is an annual stocktaking exercise which aims to present IOM DTM's operations and activities transparently. The Global Survey focuses on operations active from January 1 to December 31, 2023, with data collection occurring from February to April 2024.
