The May rains triggered floods and landslides/mudslides in the most affected districts in Uganda. Most floods in districts bordering the big water bodies are because of the rising water levels. The hazards affected 46,457 individuals (10,191 households), with 12,681 people from 2,697 households internally displaced due to the adverse weather conditions.

Following the release of the first edition of PROGRESS 2023 report, the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) has compiled a series of National Displacement Profiles based on end of year 2023 figures. These profiles offer insights into the latest end-of-year 2023 figures, aligning with the objectives outlined by the Data for Solutions to Internal Displacement Taskforce (DSID).
The profile provides a comprehensive overview of the demographic breakdowns and geographical distribution of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Yemen as of the end of 2023. It delves into the primary areas of origin and displacement for IDPs, shedding light on the factors influencing their decision-making processes regarding the selection of solutions locations. Additionally, the report discusses the obstacles encountered by IDPs in their pursuit of durable solutions.
This compilation underscores the critical role of data in addressing internal displacement challenges and highlights the ongoing efforts to leverage data-driven solutions through collaborative initiatives like DSID.

Baseline 3, an area-based assessment that is part of Mobility Tracking implemented at settlement level and aims to quantify presence of population categories. DTM Somalia is administered across 7 regions and 29 districts in three states namely Hirshabelle, Jubaland, South-West State from February to March 2024.
DTM Somalia has mapped around 1,542,157 IDPs, 73,740 returnees, and 4,831,680 residents in 6,571 assessed locations. IDPs were present in 24 per cent of locations assessed (1,549 locations) and returnees were present in 4 per cent of assessed locations (236 locations). Natural disaster is the Primary reasons for displacement with 59 per cent and conflict with 44 per cent.
The results include regions of origin, reasons for displacement and accessibility information, as well as the Operational Zones (OPZ) established by OCHA. These zones are designed to support sub-district response and reporting efforts.

According to the latest figures from the Turkish Presidency of Migration Management (PMM), there are more than 4.5 million foreigners in Türkiye, of whom 3.4 million are seeking international protection. Most of them are Syrians (3,114,099) who have been granted temporary protection status. Another group of foreigners are international protection holders mainly from Iraq, Afghanistan, the Islamic Republic of Iran and Ukraine. In 2023, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), there were 296,685 refugees and asylum-seekers in Türkiye. In addition, 1,125,623 foreigners with residence permits were in Türkiye as of May 2024, which is 175,714 people less than in May 2023.

From 1 January to 29 June 2024, IOM Yemen DTM tracked 1,622 households (HH) (9,732 Individuals) who experienced displacement at least once.
Between 23 and 29 June 2024, IOM Yemen DTM tracked 43 households (258 individuals) displaced at least once. The majority of people moved into/within the following governorates and districts:
- Ma’rib (33 HHs) – Ma’rib City (23 HHs), Ma’rib (7 HHs), Harib (3 HHs) districts. Most displacements in the governorate originated from Al Hodeidah and Ibb.
- Al Hodeidah (5 HHs) – Hays (5 HHs) district. Most displacements in the governorate originated from Ta’iz and Al Hodeidah.
- Ta’iz (5 HHs) – Al Misrakh (5 HHs) district. Most displacements in the governorate originated from Al Jawf.
The majority of people moved from the following governorates and districts:
- Al Hodeidah (15 HHs) – Az Zuhrah (3 HHs), Al Jarrahi (2 HHs), As Sukhnah (2 HHs) districts.
- Ta’iz (5 HHs) – Maqbanah (3 HHs), Sharab As Salam (1 HH), Al Mudhaffar (1 HH) districts.
- Al Jawf (5 HH) – Al Maslub (3 HHs), Khab wa Ash Shaf (1 HH), Al Khalaq (1 HH) districts.

IOM Yemen DTM’s Rapid Displacement Tracking (RDT) tool collects data on estimated numbers of households forced to flee on a daily basis from their locations of origin or displacement, allowing for regular reporting of new displacements in terms of estimated numbers, geography, and needs. It also tracks returnees who returned to their location of origin.

DTM Global Survey 2023
The Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Global Survey 2023 is an annual stocktaking exercise which aims to present IOM DTM's operations and activities transparently. The Global Survey focuses on operations active from January 1 to December 31, 2023, with data collection occurring from February to April 2024.
