Since 01 April 2024, DTM monitored numerous clashes across Al Fasher and other localities in North Darfur state that triggered widespread displacement.
Reported clashes displaced an estimated 410,376 individuals (82,272 households) between 01 April 2024 and 09 October 2024.
The Focused Flash Alert provides a numeric breakdown of displacement due the recent escalations in Al Fasher locality from 01 April to 9 October 2024. All figures should be understood as preliminary estimates, pending further verification. For more information, see Focused Flash Alert North Darfur (Update 003), (Update 002), and (Update 001).
DTM Sudan releases Early Warning Flash Alerts to provide immediate updates on specific incidents or armed clashes that spurred displacement. Early Warning Flash Alerts are distributed via the DTM Sudan mailing list. For more granular information on displacement and mobility, see Sudan Mobility Update (09).

- Flow Monitoring

- Flow Monitoring
In August 2024, 38,627 migratory movements were observed at Djibouti's flow monitoring points (FMPs). Of these movements, 20,383 were inbound from Ethiopia, an increase of 6 per cent from July.
Migrants of Sudanese (15) and Chadian (4) origin were recorded in the movements heading for Saudi Arabia, thus characterising the diversification of the nationalities of migrants in transit in the country.
During the period, the number of migrants stranded increased by 6 per cent, mainly due to the Djibouti authorities stepping up security measures on the Obock coast and to heavy rainfall in the regions where some flooded wadis reduced migrant movements.
