On 21st October 2023, IOM and partners (UNHCR, DRC, and ACTED) conducted a rapid intention survey in Malakal TC to monitor the population dynamics and displacement patterns in the center and to inform humanitarian response. Data collected included movement intentions, preferred intended destination, and reasons for those who intend to remain at the transit center in the short-term response. According to the head count, conducted on October 21, 2023, the center hosts 3,405 individuals, which is a decrease from 7,979 individuals in September 2023.

On 27 September 2023, IOM and partners conducted a rapid intention survey in Renk TC and its area adjacent. The partners included ACTED, Save the Children, Mentor Initiative, Plan International, ADRA, IRC, LWF and GOAL. The purpose of this exercise was to monitor the population dynamics and displacement trends in the center and to inform humanitarian response. . Data collected included movement intentions, preferred intended destination, and reasons for those that intend to remain at the transit center in the short term response.

•Depuis le début des affrontements au Soudan, plus de 500 000 personnes ont traversé la frontière vers le Tchad. L’OIM estime que plus de 80 926 parmi eux sont des retournés tchadiens et s’attend à ce que ce nombre passe à 100 000 dans les semaines à venir.
•En coordination avec la CNARR et les organisations humanitaires, l’OIM a déjà enregistré 74 049 retournés et 238 ressortissants de pays (Soudan du Sud, Niger, Ethiopie, République Centrafricaine, Burkina Faso, Ouganda et Nigéria) dans 34 localités dans trois provinces.
•La plupart des retournés sont installés spontanément près de la frontière avec le Soudan et ont un besoin urgent de nourriture, d’eau, d’assainissement et d’hygiène, d’abris, d’articles non alimentaires, de soutien sanitaire et de protection.

  • Over 500,000 people have crossed into Chad since the onset of the crisis in Sudan. IOM estimates that more than 80,986 among them are Chadian returnees and expects this number to rise to 100,000 in the coming weeks.
  • In coordination with CNARR and humanitarian organizations, IOM has counted 74,049 returnees and counted 238 third-country nationals (from South Sudan, Niger, Ethiopia, the Central African Republic, Burkina Faso, Nigeria and Uganda) in 34 localities in three provinces.
  • Most of the returnees currently live in spontaneous locations near the border and are in urgent need of food, water, sanitation and hygiene, shelter, household items, health, and protection.

Entre août et décembre 2022, l'OIM France a mené une enquête auprès des ressortissants de pays tiers (RPT) déplacés d'Ukraine en France. L'étude vise à recueillir des informations sur les profils, le parcours et les intentions des ressortissants non-ukrainiens qui ont fui l'Ukraine en raison du conflit armé. L'OIM France a collecté ces informations sur le territoire national, avec en particulier le soutien de quatre ONGs (Entraide Pierre Valdo, France Fraternités, Pottal Fii Bhantal France, Maison des Camerounais de France). Au total, 52 ressortissants étrangers déplacés d'Ukraine ont accepté de répondre volontairement et anonymement à l'enquête menée par le personnel de l'OIM (47 entretiens en personne et 5 par téléphone). Les résultats sont basés sur un échantillon de convenance, ce qui signifie que les résultats s'appliquent uniquement aux personnes interrogées dans le cadre de l'enquête, et non à la population générale.

Depuis le début de la crise M23, l'OIM, par le biais de la DTM continue à mener une série d'évaluations rapides, y compris le suivi des situations d’urgence (EET/ERM), l'analyse des crises et enregistrement avec priorité de répondre aux besoins immédiats d'information en vue de comprendre la dynamique des déplacements et les besoins. Ce rapport présente les résultats des évaluations menées dans les différentes zones de déplacement et de retour entre le 9 et 22 octobre 2023.

Les données sur les déplacements recueillies dans le cadre de cette neuvième analyse de crise montrent une nouvelle augmentation du nombre de personnes déplacées par rapport à la publication précédente. Le nombre de déplacés internes est passé de 824 381 à 908 920 au 22 octobre 2023, soit une augmentation de 84 539 individus ou neuf pour cent. Cette évaluation ont permis d'identifier un total de 663 812 personnes retournées (136 426 ménages).

The Registered IDP Area Baseline Assessment provides granular data on the number and geographic location of officially registered internally displaced people (IDPs). This report assesses registered IDP presence at the raion level, also mapping the recorded change since the previous round. Round 28 presents the data of the registered IDP population disaggregated by sex, age and state-recognised disability status.

The data collected for the Area Baseline Assessment Round 28 reflects the up-to-date local administrative register of the IDP population as of 30 September 2023, equivalent to a total of 3,516,338 registered IDPs. Registered IDP figures were collected for 1,039 hromadas (78% of all hromadas covered in Ukrainian government-controlled areas). Data disaggregated by age, sex and disability status were provided for around 76 per cent of the administrative units covered.
