The Rainy Season in Sudan typically occurs on an annual basis with greatest concentration between the months of June and September. In 2021, all flooding EETs were implemented between the month of July and October. In 2022, DTM Sudan first implemented its EET to monitor flooding taking place in At Tadamon locality, South Kordofan in May. The need for the implementation of a flooding EET this early in the year reflects the fluctuating raining patterns across Sudan, particularly across the water basins of the two Nile rivers, as well as climate change acceleration around the world.The information provided reflects published data collected by DTM Sudan’s Emergency Event Tracking (EET) tool up to 20 October 2022.

The last flash alert released as a result of the Rainy Season reported on flooding in Kadugli Town in Kadugli locality, South Kordofan on 8 and 9 October 2021. As the rainy season reaches its end, field teams have not released any EET reports following individuals displaced due to flooding during October 2022. Given that the IDP caseload has remained constant, this will be DTM Sudan’s final weekly floods summary this year. DTM field teams will continue to monitor displaced caseload across Sudan and update the humanitarian community should the need arise. 

In order to capture the displacement and return dynamics in Ethiopia, DTM Ethiopia's National Displacement Report combines findings from its Site Assessment (SA) in Section 1 and findings from the Village Assessment Survey (VAS) in Section 2. The Site Assessment tracks the number of internally displaced persons (IDPs), while the Village Assessment Survey tracks the number of IDPs who are returning or have returned to their communities. 

According to data collected through the Site Assessment round 30 in June and July 2022*, 2.72 million IDPs (522,138 households) were internally displaced across 2,120 accessible sites in Ethiopia. Due to operational constraints, the figure for Tigray region is not included in the national total. This reflects a -1.58% decrease of 43,618 IDPs compared to the previous round of data collection in March and April 2022.

According to the data collected primarily between June and July 2022*, there were an estimated 2 million returning IDPs (456,120 households) across 1,662 villages in Ethiopia. Due to operational constraints, the figure for Tigray region is not included in the national total. The increase in the number of returning IDPs can be attributed to the increase in coverage this round, especially in villages in Amhara region.

*Due to the greater IDP caseload, data collection in Amhara and Oromia regions began in May 2022.

La DTM a identifié 69 personnes (11 ménages) affectées dont 54 personnes (8 ménages) déplacées par les vents violents dans la province de Rumonge.

The DTM Emergency Tracking Tool (ETT) is deployed to track and to collect information on large and sudden population movements, provide frequent updates on the scale of displacement and quantify the affected population when needed. As a sub-component of the Mobility Tracking methodology in Nigeria, ETT utilises direct observation and a broad network of key informants to capture best estimates of the affected population per location, enabling targeted humanitarian response planning.
Between 10 and 16 October 2022, a total of 1,413 new arrivals were recorded in locations in Adamawa and Borno States. The new arrivals were recorded at locations in Askira/Uba, Bama, Dikwa, Damboa, Gwoza, Monguno, Ngala and Kala Balge Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the most conflict-affected state of Borno and in Fufore, Gombi, Girei, Hong, Lamurde, Maiha, Michika, Mubi South, Mubi North, Song, Yola North and Yola South LGAs of Adamawa State.

During the month of July 2022, a total of 31,510 migrants were observed at the various cross-border flow monitoring points (12,153 individuals entering Nigeria by the FMPs and 19,357 individuals leaving Nigeria by the FMPs). The average daily flow was 1,087, up by 6 per cent from the previous month. The increase in daily flow could be attributed to increased short-term commercial activities and movements as a result of seasonal farming along the Nigeria-Niger route. Many farmers are utilizing the rainy season for farming activities in rural areas of Nigeria and Niger.
All observed travelers were conducting a cross-border movement; 39 per cent were entering the country, while 61 per cent were leaving the country.

Une recrudescence des affrontements entre gangs rivaux, ainsi que l'éruption de manifestations parfois violentes, des pillages, pénuries de biens essentiels et le blocage d'axes routiers et ports dans la Zone métropolitaine de Port-au-Prince (ZMPP) au cours des derniers mois ont accrû l'insécurité déjà présente et ont aggravé une situation économique déjà précaire. Cela a contribué à des déplacements urbains à grande échelle. Ce rapport présente les résultats de l'évaluation hebdomadaire des déplacements et de la situation humanitaire effectuée par le système d'alerte précoce du ZMPP.

308 nouveaux déplacements (+22% par rapport à la période d'évaluation précédente) et 461 nouvelles arrivées (+148% par rapport à la période d'évaluation précédente) de personnes déplacées internes ont été rapportés pendant la période d’évaluation dans les 308 quartiers évalués. La plupart de ces déplacements ont eu lieu dans les communes de Pétion-Ville (41%), Croix-des-Bouquets (39%) et Cité Soleil (8%). Durant la période d’évaluation du 1er au 7 octobre, la DTM avait observé 253 nouveaux déplacements et 186 nouvelles arrivées de personnes déplacées dans 292 quartiers évalués. La situation sécuritaire reste toujours tendue, avec 170 quartiers affectés par l'insécurité (+8% par rapport à la période d'évaluation précédente) et 64 par des violences généralisées (+31%). 14 quartiers (+17% par rapport à la période d'évaluation précédente) ont signalé des occurrences d'épidémie dans le contexte de la résurgence de l'épidémie de choléra en Haïti, qui au 14 octobre 2022 avait conduit au décès de 22 personnes. Neuf quartiers étaient situés à Cité Soleil, les autres étant situés à Carrefour (2) Port-au-Prince (1), Delmas (1) et Tabarre (1).

Las encuestas se llevaron a cabo del 4 al 20 de julio de 2022. El 69.2 por ciento de las personas encuestadas para la Ronda 6 manifiesta haber iniciado su viaje a Paraguay partiendo principalmente desde Caracas – Distrito Capital (24.1%), Carabobo (11.9%), Barinas (6.7%), Bolívar (6.7%), Anzoátegui (5.1%), Monagas (5.1%), Miranda (4.7%), y Zulia (4.7%). El resto de las personas provienen en menor cantidad de otros estados, en poca cantidad y dispersos.
