Information and Analysis is fundamental to design Protection responses in Emergencies.
Information and Analysis is fundamental to design responses that are inclusive of all people, including persons with disabilities in Emergencies. This session explores how we understand and define Disability in the humanitarian context , what type of data are necessary to design an inclusive response, and how these data should be collected.
Information and Analysis is fundamental to design responses for GBV in Emergencies. This session includes background information on what GBV is and what type of response activities can be done, how to identify the necessary information, how to gather and collect them, and analyse them, in line with the interagency best practices, GBV AoR guidance and Grand Bargain Outcomes.
Information and Analysis is fundamental to design responses for Child Protection in Emergencies.
This session explores the basic principles and systems of Protection Information Management to help any professional working in humanitarian response on how they can design, collect or analyse data and information for Protection. This session is an introduction to PIM and focuses on the main four PIM components: Definition, Principles, Common Terminology and PIM Matrix.
DTM collects data to inform humanitarian response of partners, both internal (IOM programmes) and external (authorities, Clusters, WGs, AoRs, UN Agencies, NGOs, Red Cross and Red Crescent, local service providers). This training topic is devided in two sessions designed for targeted audience [ Session 03a for DTM and Data Providors, Session 3b for Partners and Data Users]. The sessions explore how working with partners is essential to ensure collecting data that can be used for response.
Ths training session explores how to mainstream protection in our work, including in data, IM and analysis activities. The session brings together field experience and guidance from IASC and gives practical examples on how to mainstream the 4 protection principles when working with data and analysis.
From 15 April 2023, armed clashes erupted between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in multiple cities across Sudan, including Khartoum, Al Fasher, Kebkabiya, Merowe, Nyala, Zalingi, Ag Geneina, and El Obeid. DTM Sudan has been receiving reports of widespread displacement across different states in Sudan due to the ongoing security situation.
Due to the ongoing nature of the fighting, many areas reportedly remain inaccessible to field teams. DTM estimates of displacement are based on preliminary reports from field teams and should be taken as estimations only. Additional reports of displacement are likely to emerge as the situation becomes clearer.
The IDP caseload has sought shelter in locations across all of Sudan’s 18 states. IDPs have been originally displaced from eight states, including Khartoum, West Darfur, South Darfur, North Darfur, Central Darfur, North Kordofan, South Kordofan, and Aj Jazirah.
Disclaimer: DTM Sudan notes that military clashes remain continuous in many areas across Sudan in particular in Khartoum and the Darfur region – limiting humanitarian access. Additionally, field teams have reported severe telecommunication and connectivity issues, as well as escalating economic pressures which have impacted the capacity for domestic travel. As such, DTM is currently conducting remote interviews with key informants across its network and is currently unable to engage in the additional verification of these figures. Data on flows into neighbouring countries is based on available information from DTM flow monitoring networks and secondary sources.
In line with Inter-Agency Grand Bargain outcomes and best practices, this training session explores the basics, purpose, process and roles of Information Management and Analysis to work efficiently together to obtain and to use data for analysis and response
