Since 15 December 2023, DTM monitored the eruption of a series of armed clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) across localities in Aj Jazirah state. According to DTM field teams, clashes triggered widespread displacement across Aj Jazirah state. As of 18 December 2023, approximately 509,796 individuals were affected by the clashes in Aj Jazirah. Of those, DTM Sudan estimated that approximately 275,796 IDPs, 60 per cent of the total affected individuals, were subjected to first-time displacement, originating from of Medani Al Kurba and Sharg Aj Jazirah localities, Aj Jazirah state. Furthermore, approximately 234,000 IDPs who were originally displaced (primarily from Khartoum) and residing in Aj Jazirah at the time of the conflict were secondarily displaced. The Focused Flash Alert provides a numeric breakdown of population estimates affected by the violence over the course of December 2023.

Between 11 and 17 December 2023, a total of 944 new arrivals were recorded at locations in Adamawa and Borno states. The new arrivals were recorded at locations in Bama, Chibok, Dikwa, Gubio, Gwoza, Hawul, Monguno and Ngala Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the most conflict-affected Borno State and in Fufore, Girei, Lamurde and Song LGAs of Adamawa State.

Between 04 and 10 December 2023, a total of 1,073 new arrivals were recorded at locations in Adamawa and Borno states. The new arrivals were recorded at locations in Askira/Uba, Bama, Dikwa, Gubio, Gwoza, Kaga, Kala/Balge, Monguno and Ngala Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the most conflict-affected Borno State and in Fufore, Girei, Gombi, Mayo-Belwa, Michika, Yola North and Yola South LGAs of Adamawa State.

Between 27 November and 03 December 2023, a total of 1,113 new arrivals were recorded at locations in Adamawa and Borno states. The new arrivals were recorded at locations in Askira/Uba, Bama, Chibok, Dikwa, Gwoza, Kaga, Monguno and Ngala Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the most conflict-affected Borno State and in Fufore, Girei, Lamurde, Michika, Mubi South, Yola North and Yola South LGAs of Adamawa State.

Between 20 and 26 November 2023, a total of 1,126 new arrivals were recorded at locations in Adamawa and Borno states. The new arrivals were recorded at locations in Askira/Uba, Bama, Chibok, Damboa, Gubio, Gwoza, Kaga, Kala/Balge, Monguno and Ngala Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the most conflict-affected Borno State and in Demsa, Fufore, Girei, Gombi, Lamurde, Maiha, Mayo-Belwa, Michika, Yola North and Yola South LGAs of Adamawa State.

Between 13 and 19 November 2023, a total of 812 new arrivals were recorded at locations in Adamawa and Borno states. The new arrivals were recorded at locations in Askira/Uba, Bama, Chibok, Gwoza, Kala/Balge, Monguno and Ngala Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the most conflict-affected Borno State and in Demsa, Fufore, Girei, Gombi, Lamurde, Maiha, Michika, Song, Yola North and Yola South LGAs of Adamawa State.

Between 06 and 12 November 2023, a total of 179 new arrivals were recorded at locations in Borno State. The new arrivals were recorded at locations in Bama, Chibok, Gubio, Gwoza, Kala/Balge, Monguno and Ngala Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the most conflict-affected
Borno State.

Between 30 October and 05 November 2023, a total of 1,326 new arrivals were recorded at locations in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states. The new arrivals were recorded at locations in Askira/Uba, Bama, Gwoza, Hawul, Mobbar, Monguno and Ngala Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the most conflict-affected Borno State, in Fufore, Gombi, Lamurde, Maiha, Michika, Song, Yola North and Yola South LGAs of Adamawa State and Damaturu, and Geidam LGAs of Yobe State.

Between 23 and 29 October 2023, a total of 1,735 new arrivals were recorded at locations in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states. The new arrivals were recorded at locations in Askira/Uba, Bama, Biu, Chibok, Damboa, Dikwa, Gwoza, Hawul, Kaga, Kala/Balge, Kwaya/Kusar, Mafa, Mobbar, Monguno and Ngala Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the most conflict-affected Borno State, in Fufore, Gombi, Lamurde, Maiha, Michika, Mubi South, Song and Yola North LGAs of Adamawa State and Damaturu, Tarmua and Yunusari LGAs of Yobe State.
