During the period of 16 – 22 December 2019, a total of 1,600 movements were recorded, which composed of 1,258 arrivals and 342 departures. Arrivals were recorded at locations in Askira/Uba, Bama, Damboa, Dikwa, Gwoza, Jere, Kaga, Mobbar and Ngala Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Borno State.

Results show that the average daily number of individuals observed in November, at the FMPs in Nigeria, was 1,163. This represents a 2 per cent decrease compared to the daily average of October 2019.

During the period of 9 – 15 December 2019, a total of 2,721 movements were recorded, which composed of 2,117 arrivals and 604 departures. Arrivals were recorded at locations in Askira/Uba, Bama, Damboa, Gwoza, Mafa, Mobbar and Ngala Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Borno State.

During the period of 2 – 8 December 2019, a total of 2,517 movements were recorded, which composed of 1,662 arrivals and 855 departures. Arrivals were recorded at locations in Askira/Uba, Bama, Biu, Damboa, Dikwa, Gwoza, Jere, Mobbar and Ngala Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Borno State.

During the period of 25 November – 1 December 2019, a total of 3,786 movements were recorded, which composed of 2,452 arrivals and 1,334 departures.

During the period of 18 – 24 November 2019, a total of 1,806 movements were recorded, which composed of 1,175 arrivals and 631 departures.

Three separate fire outbreaks at Fulatari Camp and Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS) Camp Monguno have left 79 IDPs homeless, and properties belonging to the victims destroyed.

The geopolitical zones of North Central and North West in Nigeria have been affected by a multidimensional crisis, rooted in deep and historic rifts and rekindled in 2013 by worsening socioeconomic and environmental conditions in the two regions.

During the period of 11 – 17 November 2019, a total of 2,506 movements were recorded, which were composed of 1,753 arrivals and 753 departures.

Shiyar Rafi, Birnin Magaji and Lilo Village in Gummi and Gusau Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Zamfara State have recorded the arrival of 6,419 displaced individuals (1,126 households).

Through the setup of Flow Monitoring Points (FMPs), IOM seeks to quantify migration flows, trends and routes to gain a better understanding of the profiles of observed individuals at entry, transit and/or exit points.

During the period of 4 – 10 November 2019, a total of 1,626 movements were recorded, which were composed of 1,264 arrivals and 362 departures.

A fire incident at the Government Senior Science Secondary School (GSSSS) Camp, Monguno, on 5th November 2019, at around 11 AM, has left 342 individuals (119 households) without shelters and belongings.

During the period of 28 October – 3 November 2019, a total of 13,976 movements were recorded, which were composed of 4,238 arrivals and 9,738 departures.

During the period of 21 – 27 October 2019, a total of 1,208 movements were recorded, which were composed of 922 arrivals and 286 departures.

Following heavy rains on 26-27 October 2019, a large number of people have been displaced in Lamurde, Numan, Demsa, Guyuk, Girei, Fufore, Yola North and Yola South Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Nigeria’s northeastern state of Adamawa.

This report is based on data collected through DTM’s Comprehensive Migration Flows Surveys (CMFS) in 2016, methodology that aims to enable a better understanding of migration flows from Nigeria towards Europe.
