DTM has created a standardized approach adaptable to specific contexts for regional and country level implementation by developing training packages that increase knowledge on DTM’s purpose, methods, components and tools to build skills on implementing relevant, timely, and responsible data collection activities in complex environments with human mobility. The context adaptable training content is developed for internal IOM stakeholders and external stakeholders.
Common internal IOM stakeholders include- Chiefs of Mission, multi-sectoral programme colleagues, DTM programme officers, technical officers and data collection teams at the country level. External stakeholders include local and national authorities, Office of the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), clusters, other UN agencies and working groups and academic institutions.
Tested learning materials are available on various topics across the DTM data collection life-cycle including:
-
Introduction to DTM and key principles
-
Strategic Positioning
-
Methods and Components
-
Programmes
-
Technical topics
