The ongoing conflict in Jur River has caused wide-spread displacement since March 2019 within the county, into neighboring Wau Town and reaching as far as Tambura in neighboring Western Equatoria.

Wau Town features one protection of civilians (PoC) site and five collective centres in which IOM DTM conducts monthly headcounts to monitor changing population dynamics and displacement trends. In July 2019, the monthly count was conducted in Cathedral, Nazareth, St.

As per the July 2019 headcount, the population stands at 103,424 individuals (18,140 households).

The Uganda Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) Points of Entry (PoE) Preparedness dashboard is updated twice a month, using data collected daily by the EVD screeners at Points of Entry.

877,537 displaced individuals comprising 145,217 households in 460 displacement sites were identified in Oromia region. These figures represent an increase of 24,964 individuals (+2.93%), an increase of 901 households (+0.62%), a decrement of 3 sites (-0.65%) since round 16 (March/April 2019).

31,041 displaced individuals comprising 3,846 households in 13 displacement sites were identified in Gambella region.

This analysis represents a snapshot of the displacement context from 1st May to 1st June 2019. It does not reflect any return movements or other changes which may have taken place after the period of data collection.

In July 2019, a total of 22,228 movements were observed at Flow Monitoring Points. This represents a decrease of 13% in comparison with June 2019 when 25,582 movements were observed.

As part of IOM’s Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) preparedness activities, DTM operates Flow Monitoring Points (FMPs) on the borders with Uganda (UGA), the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Central African Republic (CAR). In total, 21 EVD-dedicated FMPs were active in June.

During June 2019, DTM has identified 113,067 IDPs. The main causes for the displacements have been: 77 per cent natural disasters and 23 per cent other reasons.

IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) monitored arrivals from Khartoum to Rubkona Bus Station between 15 April and 30 June 2019.

45,148 movements were observed at 8 flow monitoring points in the provinces of Cankuzo, Muyinga, Rutana and Ruyigi in the month of May. Flow Monitoring is a component of the DTM methodology aimed at providing information on population movements at points of transit.
