Yemen — Rapid Displacement Tracking Update (11 July To 17 July 2021)

IOM Yemen DTM’s Rapid Displacement Tracking (RDT) tool collects data on numbers of households forced to flee on a daily basis from their locations of origin or displacement, allowing for regular reporting of new displacements in terms of numbers, geography, and needs. It also tracks Returnees who returned to their location of origin.

From 01 January 2021 to 17 July 2021, IOM Yemen DTM estimates that 7,560 households (HH) (45,360 Individuals) have experienced displacement at least once.

Between 11 July 2021 and 17 July 2021, IOM Yemen DTM tracked 583 households (3,498 individuals) displaced at least once. The highest number of displacements were seen in:

Lahj (413 HH) – Al Had (413 HH) district. All displacements in the governorate originated from Al Bayda.

Marib (61 HH) – Jabal Murad (27 HH), Marib City (13 HH), Al Jubah (11 HH) districts. Most displacements in the governorate originated from Marib and Sana'a.

Al Maharah (51 HH) – Al Ghaydah (26 HH), Shahan (25 HH) districts. Most displacements in the governorate originated from Al Maharah and Al Hudaydah.

Most displacements resulted from the increased conflict in the following governorates and districts.

Al Bayda (413 HH) – Az Zahir (413 HH) district.

Marib (33 HH) – Rahabah (29 HH), Marib City (2 HH), Sirwah (1 HH) districts.

Sana'a (22 HH) – Bani Dhabyan (20 HH), Nihm (1 HH), Al Haymah Al Kharijiyah (1 HH) districts.

Some 32 HH were displaced in the previous reporting period, which covered 04 July - 10 July 2021.  However, they were only identified in the current period and so, this figure has been added to the cumulative displacement total recorded from the beginning of the year.

Since the beginning of 2021, DTM also identified 485 displaced households who left their locations of displacement and either moved back to their place of origin or another location.
