From April to July 2016, 2,272 interviews were conducted in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Greece, Hungary, Serbia, and Italy. This week’s report focuses on providing an analysis on migrants and refugees travelling along the Central Mediterranean Route and the Eastern Mediterranean Route.

76% of individuals who took the Central Mediterranean Route answered “yes” to one of the trafficking and other exploitative practices indi-cators, based on their own direct experience. 51% of respondents responded positively to at least 2 of the trafficking and other exploitative practices indicators. In the case of individuals who took the Easter Mediterranean Route, 10% of individuals answered “yes” to one of the trafficking and other exploitative practices indicators, based on their own direct experience. A much smaller number (2%), compared to the Central Mediterranean Route, responded positively to at least 2 of the trafficking and other exploitative practices indicators.
