588 IDPs were interviewed at 22 sites in Bangui. 84% of displaced persons left their place of origin since December 2013. 38.6% left their place of origin for security reasons. 13% of displaced persons have stayed at more than one site. 57% of displaced persons intended to return to their place of origin within the next four weeks. 32% of displaced persons wished to stay at their displacement site, which shows a slight decrease from 34% in March 2014. Reasons that prevented the displaced back from returning to their place of origin were: belongings are stolen (80%), no financial means (68%), not feeling secure in their neighborhood (64%), and lack of security forces in their neighborhood (61%). Displaced persons’ primary needs are housing (31.5%), security (26.5%), and non-food items (11.1%).
