On 15 December 2019 at 02:11 PM, a 6.9 magnitude earthquake jolted the municipality of Matanao, Davao del Sur just 30 kilometers away from Tulunan, North Cotabato which suffered three major earthquakes in late October.
According to the latest DSWD-DROMIC report (Report# 4), 31,988 families or 137,271 persons are affected and 14,172 houses are damaged (2,760 totally destroyed and 11,380 partially damaged). 29,957 families or 126,046 persons are displaced.
31 government-listed IDP sites host 4,368 families or 21,457 persons and 4,566 families or 18,986 persons are otherwise displaced.
