According to the latest available figures from the Turkish Directorate General for Migration Management (DGMM) there were more than 3,9 million foreign nationals present in Turkey seeking international protection. Most of them are Syrian nationals (3,591,714) who are granted the temporary protection (TP) status while according to UNHCR another large group of the foreign nationals are 368,230 asylum seekers and refugees, consisting of different nationalities but mainly coming from Afghanistan, Islamic Republic of Iran, Somalia and other countries.
DTM Global Survey 2023
The Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Global Survey 2023 is an annual stocktaking exercise which aims to present IOM DTM's operations and activities transparently. The Global Survey focuses on operations active from January 1 to December 31, 2023, with data collection occurring from February to April 2024.
