On 20th September 2022, the Ministry of Health declared an outbreak of Sudan ebolavirus (EVD) after a case managed at Mubende Regional Referral Hospital (MRRH) in Mubende district was confirmed through testing at the Uganda Virus Research Institute (UVRI). Other cases were confirmed in Kyegegwa, Kasanda, Bunyangabu and Kagadi districts and as per the reporting date, 63 cases have been confirmed with 10 deaths. Other hazards reported include “floods”, “landslides” and “transport related accidents”. A total of 25,494 individuals were affected by EVD, floods, landslides and accidents hazards. And
displacing 7,308 individuals. Adults (19-64) were the most affected population group (54%), followed by children under 18
(40%) and the elderly above 64 (6%). The most pressing needs are health, shelter, non-food items and food assistance. So far in 2022, 117,938 individuals have been affected by disasters, representing 23,329 households. A total of 20,759 individuals representing 5,388 households have been internally displaced.
