Nigeria's north-central and north-west zones are afflicted with a multidimensional crisis rooted in long-standing tensions between ethnic and religious groups and involves attacks by criminal groups and banditry/hirabah (such as kidnapping and grand larceny along major highways).

Between the 10th and 16th of January 2022, a total of 3,287 movements were recorded in Adamawa and Borno States. The recorded movements consisted of 2,829 arrivals and 458 departures.

Between the 3rd and 9th of January 2022, a total of 3,118 movements were recorded in Adamawa and Borno States. The recorded movements consisted of 2,746 arrivals and 372 departures.
