Fear of attacks and subsequent confirmed attacks in Ancuabe, Chiure, Memba and Erati districts by Non-State Armed Groups triggered 8,651 individual displacement movements within Erati, Memba and Citade De Nampula.

Mozambique — Emergency Tracking Tool Report — 173 (24 - 30 August 2022)

During the reporting period (24 to 30 August 2022), a total of 38 movements were recorded - 22 arrivals (1,589 individuals), 5departures (293 individuals), and 11 returns (589 individuals). The largest arrival movements were recorded in Mueda (1,083 individuals) and Ancuabe (321 individuals).

In July 2022, 20,214 movements were observed at the Flow Monitoring Points (FMPs) in Djibouti, representing a daily average of 652 movements. Migration flows decreased by 10 per cent compared to the month of June 2022, during which a total of 22,363 movements had been registered.

In July 2022, a total of 24,297 movements were observed across five of Ethiopia's flow monitoring points (FMPs). This represents a 2% decrease in daily average movements in comparison with June 2022 when an average of 802 movements per day were observed.

Migration Along the Eastern Corridor (July 2022)

The Horn of Africa and Yemen is one of the busiest and riskiest migration corridors in the world travelled by hundreds of thousands of migrants, the majority of whom travel in an irregular manner, often relying on smugglers to facilitate movement along the Eastern Route.

Following the recent attacks in Mitepo locality (Meluco district), the IOM’s DTM team continue to track IDP movement across Cabo Delgado. An estimated 2,009 individuals (585 households) were displaced to Meluco sede. Among the the displaced individuals, 14 were identified with vulnerabilities.
