This week there were 218 new arrivals at the Baidoa checkpoints and 163 exits. This is lowest number of exit recorded in the last four weeks. All of the new entries cited rejoining with their families (52%), Shortage of food (39%) and health reasons (9%) as their reasons for displacement into Baidoa. Like the past few weeks, all arrivals this week came from the districts of Qansaxdheere (39%), Baidoa (37%), and Hudur (24%). They were heading to the IDP sites of Matalamin (32%), Mogor iyo Mayow (25%), Jeelow (24%), Eesaw (7%), Ufurow (7%) and Gelgel (5%). All exits left the IDP sites to return to their farms. (21%) of those exiting were from Hafate, (18%) from Rabay Gaduuda,(18%) from Shebelow, (14%) from Awal 3, (11%) from Bakool Gab, (7%) from Awal 4, (7%) from Isdorto and the remaining (4%) exited from Istanbul. With 39% returning to Qansahdhere District, 48% heading to Hudur District and the remaining 29% were returning to Baidoa district. (80%) said that they intended to return to the IDP sites after harvesting. These households who said that they intend to return have only been in the sites 3-6 months, while those who have been in the sites more than 6 months said that they did not intend to return.
