Four years after the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti in January 2010, an estimated 146,573 individuals (comprising approximately 39,464 households) remain in 271 IDP sites. Compared to the previous assessment, there is a decrease of 25,401 IDP individuals, or 5,816 IDP households, corresponding to a 15% decrease in the number of individuals and 13% households, respectively. Between September and December 2013, 41 IDP sites were closed, equivalent to an 11% decrease compared to the September 2013 figures. Since 2010, the IDP caseload has decreased by 90% and the number of IDP sites by 83%.
