Mozambique — Tropical Cyclone Idai - Multi-Sectoral Location Assessments - Round 3 - Site Profiles, Beira, Buzi, Dondo, Nhamatanda, and Sussundenga districts (30 April 2019)

From 24 to 26 April 2019 IOM, in close coordination with the Government of Mozambique agency Instituto Nacional de Gestão de Calamidades, conducted multi-sectoral location assessments in 34 displacement sites in Beira, Buzi, Dondo, Nhamatanda, and Sussundenga districts.

Zimbabwe — Tropical Cyclone Idai Baseline Assessment - Round 2 (21 April 2019)

From the 16th to the 18th of April 2019 IOM, in close coordination with the Government of Zimbabwe conducted baseline assessments in Bikita, Gutu, Masvingo Rural and Zaka districts. 9,859 IDPs (2,059 households)* were reported across the 4 affected districts.

Mozambique — Tropical Cyclone Idai Map, DTM Coverage Open Sites (18 April 2019)

Mozambique — Tropical Cyclone Idai Site Profiles, Chibabawa, Muanza and Sussundenga districts (20 April 2019)

From 15 — 18 April 2019 IOM, in close coordination with the Government of Mozambique agency Instituto Nacional de Gestão de Calamidades, conducted multi-sectoral location assessments in 36 displacement sites in Chibabawa, Muanza and Sussundenga districts. 

Mozambique — Return Intention Survey (18 April 2019)

From 14 — 15 April, DTM teams in coordination with Mozambique’s National Institute of Disaster Management (INGC), conducted a rapid intention survey in 18 displacement sites in Beira district.

From 2 — 12 April 2019 IOM, in close coordination with the Government of Mozambique agency Instituto Nacional de Gestão de Calamidades, conducted multi-sectoral location assessments in 67 displacement sites in Sofala, Manica, Tete and Zambezia provinces.

Moçambique — Inquéritos Sobre Intenções de Retorno (18 Abril 2019)

Os dias 14 e 15 de Abril, as equipas da DTM, em coordenação com o Instituto Nacional de Gestão de Calamidades de Moçambique (INGC), realizaram inquéritos sobre as intenções de retorno em 18 locais de deslocamento no distrito da Beira.

De 10 a 12 de Abril, as equipas do DTM, em coordenação com o Instituto Nacional de Gestão de Desastres de Moçambique (INGC), conduziram uma rápida avaliação multi-sectorial em 26 locais nos distritos de Manica, Sofala, Tete, Zambézia.

Malawi — Tropical Cyclone Idai - Multi-Sectoral Location Assessments (11 April 2019)

 From 1 — 6 April 2019 IOM, in close coordination with the Government of Malawi through the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA), conducted DTM Round II multi-sectoral location assessments in  103 displacement sites in Chikwawa, Nsanje, Phalombe, Zomba districts. 

Malawi — Tropical Cyclone Idai - Multi-Sectoral Location Assessment - Site Profiles (10 April 2019)

The Multi-Sectoral Location Assessments conducted from 1 April to 6 April 2019 by DTM teams in 103 sites located in Chikwawa, Nsanje, Phalombe and Zomba  allowed us to produice these Site Profiles.

Mozambique — Tropical Cyclone Idai Situation Report # (9 April 2019)

As of 9 April 2019, according to Mozambique’s National Institute of Disaster Management (INGC), 73,740 individuals (14,327 families) have been displaced and taken shelter in evacuation centres in the four provinces of Sofala (37), Zambezia (3), Tete (5) and Manica (43).

IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix is monitoring in and out flows of current IDPs sites in conjunction with Government of Mozambique / INGC. The map and table shows the number of individuals displaced evolution, as well as the current status of these sites in Beira city.

Mozambique — Tropical Cyclone Idai Map, Temporary Relocation Sites Layout (6 April 2019)

CCCM has been supporting the INGC in identifying suitable sites to potentially relocate IDPs who are currently living in secondary schools that have been slated to reopen as per instruction of the Minister of Education. Four sites have been identified and have been surveyed.

IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix is monitoring in and out flows of current IDPs sites. The map shows individual IDPs that are being moved out of the schools to the new temporary relocation sites in Beira city.

Mozambique — Tropical Cyclone Idai Situation Report 3 (3 April 2019)

As of 3 April 2019, according to Mozambique’s National Institute of Disaster Management (INGC), 131,136 individuals (32,290 families) have been displaced and taken shelter in evacuation centres in the four provinces of Sofala (107), Zambezia (3), Tete (5) and Manica (21).

Malawi — Tropical Cyclone Idai Response (29 March 2019)

Since the beginning of March 2019, Malawi has experienced flooding and sustained heavy rain caused by the Tropical Cyclone Idai weather system. According to the Government of Malawi and humanitarian partners, there are 86,980 IDPs in 173 displacement sites in the affected districts.
