From January to December 2022, IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) conducted a total of 43,886 (7,052 households) registrations – 100% of which were of internally displaced persons (IDPs). No new registration activities of returnees were conducted during 2022.

Integrated Location Assessments (ILA) are utilized to enhance and provide accurate and up-to-date information on access to services at major sites of displacement, alongside profiles of displaced and returnee populations.

The Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) is a global IOM system used to track and monitor displacement and population mobility.

From January to December 2021, IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) registered a total of 48,870 persons (8,178 households) – 100% of which were of internally displaced persons (IDPs) with no new registration exercises of returnees since December 2020.

Mobility Tracking Round Three started in April 2021 with the expansion of DTM operations to North Kordofan state.

On 22 September 2021, DTM Sudan piloted a Situation Assessment during an Inter-Agency Needs Assessment mission to Sortony alongside UNOCHA, UNHCR, UNICEF, OHCHR, WFP, COOPI, and the Humanitarian Aid Commission.

Commencing in November 2020, DTM Sudan began its preparation for the second round of Mobility Tracking; this started with the expansion of DTM operations across three additional states of implementation, namely Kassala, Gedaref and Blue Nile, followed by visiting locations in North, East, South,

In 2020, DTM registered 76,354 individuals across three states of Darfur and South Kordofan – 39,922 (52%) of which were returnees and 36,432 (48%) internally displaced persons (IDPs).

From October to December 2020, IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) conducted a total of 4,949 registrations in Sudan – 100 per cent of which were internally displaced persons (IDPs) with no new registrations of returnees since July.

From July to September 2020, IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) conducted a total of 12,316 registrations in Sudan – 95 per cent of which were internally displaced persons (IDPs) and five per cent returnees from internal displacement.

From April to June 2020, IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) conducted 6,549 registrations across three states in Sudan – 3,186 (49%) of which were internally displaced persons (IDPs) and 3,363 (51%) returnees.

Commencing in October 2019, DTM Sudan began its preparation for the first round of Mobility Tracking; this started with the training of IOM field teams across the seven states of implementation, namely North, East, South, West and Central Darfur, as well as South and West Kordofan.
