The escalation of violence between all parties in north-eastern Nigeria since 2014 has resulted in mass displacement and deprivation in the states of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe. To better understand the scope of displacement and assess the needs of affected populations, IOM has been implementing its Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) programme starting July 2014, in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and State Emergency Management Agencies (SEMAs). The activities of the DTM project, which consist of conducting baseline assessments and registration for IDPs living in camps and host communities, are currently being carried out in Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe.
The information collected will contribute to the provision of a comprehensive profile of the IDP population in Nigeria which will be shared with all relevant stakeholders and will contribute towards enabling the government of Nigeria and humanitarian partners identify the needs of Nigeria's displaced population and develop interventions for providing IDPs necessary assistance.

Within the period of 1 - 7 July, a total of 2,796 movements were recorded, including 2,021 arrivals and 775 departures.
Following the displacement of 9,432 individuals between 21 and 27 May 2019 from Sabon Gari Community to Damboa Town, 142 households (710 individuals) were being hosted in Unity Camp Phase 2, while 156 households (717 individuals) were accommodated in classrooms in GSS Damboa (SSS Quarters).
DTM Round 27 assessments were carried out from 25 March to 29 May 2019 in 107 LGAs including 795 wards in the conflict-affected north-eastern Nigerian states of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe.

Within the period of 17 - 23 June, a total of 3,700 movements were recorded, including 2,190 arrivals and 1,510 departures.
Within the period of 17 - 23 June, a total of 3,436 movements were recorded, including 2,829 arrivals and 607 departures.
In Nigeria, FMPs were established in March 2017 in several important transit locations in Sokoto and Kano to monitor the movements of passenger buses to and from Niger. This dashboard is an overview of the data collected in these FMPs in May 2019.
Within the period of 10 - 16 June, a total of 3,157 movements were recorded, including 2,287 arrivals and 870 departures.
An increase in violent crimes in the northwestern Nigerian states of Katsina, Sokoto and Zamfara has triggered large scale displacements and population movement within the states as well as across the international border to Niger Republic.
Within the period of 3 - 9 June, a total of 2,231 movements were recorded, including 1,633 arrivals and 598 departures.
Following the completion of Biometric Registration at 400 Housing Estate Gubio Camp in Konduga Local Government Area (LGA) of the conflict-affected State of Borno, 4,944 households and 14,290 individuals were registered. This data is as of 25 April 2019.

As of 27 May 2019, a total of 9,432 individuals from Sabon Gari community were moved by the Military to Damboa town.
Within the period of 13 -19 May 2019, a total of 4,842 movements were recorded, including 3,439 arrivals and 1,403 departures.
As of today 23rd May 2019, a total of 7,710 individuals from Sabon Gari community were brought by the Military to Damboa town. The displaced population arrived in batches: 3,767 arrived on the May 21, 2,809 arrived on May 22, and 1,134 arrived on May 23.
Within the period of 6 - 12 May 2019, a total of 4,370 movements were recorded, including 3,248 arrivals and 1,122 departures.

DTM Global Survey 2023
The Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Global Survey 2023 is an annual stocktaking exercise which aims to present IOM DTM's operations and activities transparently. The Global Survey focuses on operations active from January 1 to December 31, 2023, with data collection occurring from February to April 2024.
