In January 2019, the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) recorded 134,054 internally displaced people and 29,536 displaced households. Of these displacements, 76 per cent were displaced due to natural disasters while 24 per cent were displaced as a result of the socio-political situation. Of the total IDP population, 55 per cent are female and 45 per cent are males. Additionally, 61 per cent of IDPs are children under 18 years. Overall, there has been a 4 per cent decrease in the number of IDPs between December 2018 and January 2019.
