The round 18 assessment was carried out in 4,200 localities of presence of IDPs and/or returnees and 78 displacement sites. The data collection took place between May 01 and June 08, 2023 in the 16 prefectures of the country in addition to the capital Bangui. During this round, the DTMa team identified 452,761 IDPs and a total of 2,566,904 returnees, including 2,063,855 internal returnees and 503,019 returnees from other countries.

The Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Global Survey 2023 is an annual stocktaking exercise which aims to present IOM DTM's operations and activities transparently. The Global Survey focuses on operations active from January 1 to December 31, 2023, with data collection occurring from February to April 2024.
