Nigeria — North-central & North-west Flash Report 112 — Benue and Zamfara States (22 August 2022)
On 16 August armed bandits reportedly attacked Tudun Gyndu village in Bukkuyum ward and the villages Inligidi and Bazanjan in Adabka ward in Bukkuyum LGA of Zamfara state. These attacks affected 1,035 individuals and led to the displacement of 491 individuals from Tudun Gyndu village and 543 individuals from Inligidi and Bazanjan villages to Bukkuyum Town ,the main town in Bukkuyum LGA. In the attacks, one fatality was reported and 36 individuals were injured.
On 18 August, floods caused by heavy rainfall were reported in the Azem community of Mbatsen ward and the Dio community of Ikyurav/Mbatwer ward in Konshisha LGA of Benue state. The floods affected 42 individuals in the Azem community and 72 individuals in the Dio community. The affected population is currently displaced in neighbouring shelters within the same communities. No casualties were reported.
