As part of the Libyan national COVID-19 vaccination campaign led by NCDC, in collaboration with IOM, during the second week a total of 1,265 adult migrants attended awareness sessions on COVID-19 vaccinations. This included 1,096 migrants in the Abusliem, Azzawya Abu Issa, Daraj, and Talmetha detention centres, and 169 migrants in the urban areas of Al Kufra and Hai Alandalus. Trained community mobilisers, accompanied by medical teams, provided the migrants and detention centre staff with critical information on the COVID-19 vaccines covering facts on its importance, dosage, side effects, and emphasized on its voluntariness. The awareness sessions also addressed questions and concerns about the vaccination process. So far, 1,152 adult migrants in total, including 206 females and 946 males have received their first dose of Sinopharm and Astra Zeneca vaccination. The migrants vaccinated were from 25 different countries of origin, including Sudan (20%), Eritrea (16%) and Somalia (11%). For complete disaggregation see the dashboard.
