Nganzai, Monguno and Marte LGAs have recorded population movements that require humanitarian response. In Nganzai LGA, Gajiram received 2,406 individuals or 475 households, while Gasarwa received 1,051 individuals or 254 households between 4 and 29 December 2017.

On 8 December 2017, at around 6:25 PM, there was a fire outbreak at the Governmt Girls Secondary School (GGSS) Camp, Monguno. IOM DTM and CCCM staff on ground report that the fire was a result of a cooking fire that was let exposed.
